Educational and Schooling Projects

We are presently seeking Solidarite and Konbit members to help us in Haiti!  HaitiCorps International urgently requires  teachers, teacher educators, administrators, counselors, nutritionists, parent liaisons, professional development instructors, vocational educators, college/university professors, and advanced degree professors (ex: medical school, business school, etc) for the following programs:

The Haitian Academy is seeking teachers, vocational educators, college/university professors, and advanced degree professors to promote and facilitate education in Haiti,  providing students with the opportunity to reach the highest level of instruction.  The Academy’s educational curriculum integrates arts, music, and sports to create an inner equilibrium for students, with the overall objective focused on students’ involvement in their community.  The Haitian Academy is also requesting the donation of containers, hospital beds, and printers.

The Haitian American Caucus is seeking education, health, and construction volunteers (such as staff developers, teacher administrators, translators, etc) for a school of 150 students in Croix des Bouquets. The school focuses on education for elementary students in the morning, in addition to adult, vocational training programs in the afternoon (classes offered: English, agriculture, construction, women/men issues).  Laptop donations would be greatly appreciated, as the school is hoping to soon offer  computer courses.  Important to note for potential volunteers is the presence of an established, satellite medical clinic, adept at providing basic healthcare to students and the local community.

Partners for a Bright and Healthy Haiti (PBHH) dedicates its mission to improving the life trajectories of underserved Haitian children, by working across borders and sectors, so that disadvantaged youth can become bright and healthy citizens of the world. PBHH’s partners in Haiti, the United States, and the International community will together create and implement an integrated, sustainable, and replicable model of high-quality schooling and health service delivery for Haitian youth.  Children will attend a full-service school providing health, nutrition, and education services from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th Grade.  Providing these integral services in a central location - the school building - will increase the likelihood that children’s basic needs are consistently met and they are prepared  to learn and succeed in school.  Educational models from Haiti, the US and France will be employed to ensure children receive a world-class education.
Partners for a Bright and Healthy are seeking the following positions:

  • Teachers’ educators and staff developers
  • Nutritionists
  • Parent liaison coordinators
  • Mental health providers

Haiti Lumière de Demain (HLD) requires staff developers to work with school administrators in La Gonave, Haiti this summer.  HLD’s mission focuses on primary and secondary public school institutions, and students will be taught the importance of protecting their communal environment.  For more information, visit Haiti Lumière de Demain website (linked to http://haitilumiere.org/wp).
